Dear Parents,
I am Kristin Cooper and I will be working with Ms. Mireles and your students as a student-teacher. I received my Associates of Arts degree at Pulaski Technical College and I am currently at the University of Little Rock, and working on my Elementary Teacher K-6 Bachelor’s degree there. I have had plenty of experience with students at different schools in the past year and a half, ranging from Kindergarten to 6th grade. My goal is to have a teaching position in an Elementary school.
I am from Little Rock, Arkansas, and grew up in a family of seven. I have two sisters and a brother. One of my sisters is actually my twin (fraternal). I am in my senior year at the University of Little Rock Arkansas. Apart from school, I have been involved with Chi Alpha at my school and had the opportunity to go to Africa for a month this past summer and help out the people there in different projects.
I have chosen teaching as my career choice because I love kids. I think kids are very important in our country and should be invested in as much as possible because they are our future. Kids have the potential to change the world and I want them to see that. I think we can learn about a lot from them. I know I have and will continue to do so this semester. As I learn from each of them, I want to share as much as I can with them as well. I am so excited to have this opportunity with your students. I will gradually increase my responsibility in the classroom from small group teachings to large group teachings, and towards the end of the semester I will have the opportunity to teach the students for a week.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to work with your students this semester.
Sincerely,
Ms. Cooper
